The Road Ahead
I cleared a major obstacle this week. For the past 7 1/2 years, I have had a bench warrant because I didn’t show up for a court date to face the charge of driving on a suspended license. I finally took care of it on Tuesday.
I was worried that they would give me a big sentence because I took so long to take care of this, so worried that I had trouble sleeping the past month. I decided to get a court appointed attorney because it would have cost a thousand bucks to hire one, and it turned out better than I expected. I got Deferred Adjudication, which means all I have to do is be a good boy for 9 months and then the whole thing will be erased from my record! All is clear to get my driver’s license back and I am also free to leave the country if I wish. My fine is paid, so technically, I am a free man!
What lies ahead? I am at a point now where I can start to make plans and work towards my goal of moving to a foreign country. I have always wanted to do this, but never tried until now. My first step is to get a passport and then I need to raise some more money.
